P O A T I K I T O K I

A hand carved portrait of Kamariera Te Hau Takiri Wharepapa with detailed facial Tā moko, wearing a Tiki necklace and Korowai with embroidered patterns, set against a vibrant, geometric-patterned background containing red, black, white, and gold.

One mans chisel, The carvers groove.

Grounded in wood carving, painting and sculpture, with a profound connection to culture and heritage, the work emerges from a rich and disciplined creative foundation.

Whether producing functional objects or sculptural works, our aim is to create pieces that invite connection and reflect thoughtful craftsmanship.

At the heart of our practice is an attention to material, form and finish. Each work begins with close observation. Designs are pared back to essentials so proportions and surfaces can speak. Joints, brush strokes, carved grooves, edges and transitions are resolved with care so the object reads as a single, considered gesture rather than an assembly of parts.
